About The Film:
By the end of the 20th
century we are miserable creatures trying to survive in the cities,
among millions of human beings, in trains, offices, bus stations, streets
and cars. We are wasting our time looking at the little shining screens
of our computers and TV sets...
Flying as an ancient
dream of humanity is no more interesting for us. Because we had airplanes
enabling us reach everywhere we want...
In our cities made
of stone we are amusing ourselves to death leaving behind more noise,
more trash, more chaos everyday.
"I Want To Fly" is
a short film made at this point of our history and born from the director's
personal wish to fly. Flying is a kind of physical and spiritual escape
in the context of the film.
More than a classical
narrative movie, this is a film about some words, ideas, images and
sounds as flying, not flying, city life, bicycle, empty spaces, wind,
traffic, street lamps, rock music. This is an experiment, a personal
short look without dialogues trying to express itself only with the
instruments of the cinema.
